One of the best parts about Burlington in the summa time is getting to take advantage of our AWESOME bike path. While I’ve walked every square inch of it with my Benjamin Button, the hubbs and I definitely wanted to kick it up a notch and purchase a bike seat this year.

I put most of the R&D (well, really just R) on this one in my husband’s hands…since the bike seat was attaching to his bike. (Let’s face it, I get winded enough pedaling just myself, much less the extra weight of a toddler.) He shopped a few local stores, and saw some great bike seat options- all running around $100-$150. We didn’t necessarily want to shell out that much for a bike seat, since we didn’t know if Ben would even like it, and we were well aware that it might end up being another one of those kid’s gears items that we had to have that ultimately ends up collecting dust in our basement.

So, after a bit of online shopping, the hubbs ended up ordering the WeeRide Kangaroo Child Bike Seat from Amazon:

Let me tell you: this bad boy is AMAZEBALLS…and for less than 50 bones- worth every penny!

Unlike many toddler bike seats, this one is mounted in the center (between the bike “driver’s” seat and the handlebars), so the child actually gets to take in the passing view- rather than the driver’s backside while riding. Installation was pretty simple (not that I helped in any way), and completed in about 20 minutes.

With the exception of perhaps having a bit wider stance, the hubbs says riding the bike is exactly the same…minus having to listen to the sound of a child squealing with delight :)   (I was worried Ben would be riding too high- but not the case at all.)

We have now had the seat about a week, and have used it every day- rain or shine. To say that the little guy loves it is an understatement. If he catches a glimpse of the bike, he tries to climb up into the seat himself: adorbs.

So, for anyone else in the market for a bike seat- we give this one two thumbs WAY up :) You can read lots more deets/reviews of this product here….but now you have our 2 cents ;)

Does anyone else use a different bike seat/trailer that they have been pleased with?

BTW: has anyone been to the newly opened Kid’s City yet?!
