So, I finally took Brooke’s advice and bought a journal dedicated specifically to writing down the adorable/hilarious/uncensored/heart-warming jabber that comes out of Ben’s 2 1/2 year old mouth.
Yesterday’s entry was particularly humorous, I thought I would share:
Context: I was boiling eggs on the stove and accidentally forgot about them (tehe). I walked into the kitchen and saw the pot boiling over.
Me: Darn it!
Me: (A bit [though not entirely] shocked) We don’t say “shit”. That is a bad word.
Ben: (Matter-of-factly) No- we don’t say “darn it”. That’s a bad word. Shit is a new word.
Fair enough, Ben. Fair enough.
This kid is developing such a personality; he cracks me up every day.
What sort of stuff is coming out of your child’s mouth these days? When did you child say their first swear word? Any advice on how to successfully stifle a laugh while trying to explain to your child that we don’t use swear words? PLEASE SHARE!
Have a great LONG weekend!
