So it’s Friday and with that comes our weekly favorite five and a very special little lads second birthday!! BIG BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO BENNY!!
This week I am focusing on things we love to nibble on right here in VT! The first thing that pops into my mind is: CHOCOLATE! Fitting since we have sooo much of it right now in my house.
1. Strafford Organic Creamery- I kid you not this chocolate milk is so darn good. I have twice gone back into Natural Provisions and bought a new jug in the same trip (while pregnant mind you) The stuff is just delish. Thick and creamy, I love it, the kids love it. During the summer I often take one of the boys to do a few errands and we will share one of these glass bottles of awesomeness. Try it, you will be hooked!! Local, cool family, great milk!
2. The Vermont Brownie Company- Now not trying a brownie is like not buying Thin Mints from a Girl Scout. You can’t do it. These aren’t just any brownies either. Just ask my friend Sara over at http://simplyeverythingbeautiful.wordpress.com/. I am pretty sure she has a rather unattractive picture of me full-on grazing for quite possibly an hour at her unbelievable brownie table at her wedding (again pregnant). Not just me though!! Let me introduce you to my son Finny who actually started to cry when I told him we ate every last morsel of VT Brownie deliciousness. It was a sad sad sad moment. Buy some, buy many, buy more on reserve. They have all different flavors of yumminess! I also love the ladies who run this company which makes these brownies even all that much more fun to eat!
3.Lake Champlain Chocolate- If you live in Vermont and you haven’t heard of Lake Champlain Chocolate then you are officially smoking meth or dead. Basically a no brainer, the stuff is awesome. I ate an entire box last night (nope! not pregnant this time) What I really like about this place is that you can fill little bags of bite sized chocolates. Great for potty training treats.
4. Cheese Traders- Well you can’t really talk about chocolate without talking about cheese. I also love cheese. My whole family loves cheese. My sister in law turned me onto Cheese Traders sales when I moved to VT 6 years ago. I have been buying rejecting cheese since. We don’t discriminate in our house and either should you!! they are a great deal, they have a great selection and also a slew of other great things like um I don’t know….WINE!!
5.The Dutch Mill - Finding a place that you can bring your kids to eat and not get the hairy eyeball is a daunting task, unless of course you don’t care. At the Dutch Mill they don’t care and I love them. Be prepared to be rushed and yelled at but also to have them sweetly talk to your kids and bring you an awesome hearty breakfast. We have been bringing our boys since they were infants and we are still welcome. We can’t say that about many restaurants.
Have a great weekend Ladies and Gents!!

Yuuuuum! I am with Finny – once the place of Vermont Brownies are gone tears should be shed. So gosh darn delicious!
{and you looked BEAUTIFUL at the wedding!}
