VT Mamateurs is approaching a slew of major milestones: our one year anniversary, we’re nearing 500 likes (so close…keep spreading the word!!), and- on a more personal note- I will soon have a TWO YEAR OLD!! To celebrate the anniversary of the blog, we’re giving away a May Book from May Designs! We’re both giant nerds for our May Books, so we figured we’d share the love
If you remember, Brooke has been using her May Book to document all the cute things that come out of her boy’s mouths. (Heck, she is going to forever want to remember the day Finn asked her if she had a penis.)
But, of course, there are a million other uses for these little notebooks (i.e. jotting down endless to-do lists).
We thought it only fitting to give away a May Book from their Sweetheart Collection, since our anniversary falls on Valentine’s Day (awwww!!!). So, the winner will receive this 5×8 lined May Book:
(The 5×8 might sound small, but it’s the perfect size for throwing in a purse…or diaper bag
) This May Book (like all of their others) has a soft canvas cover and is individually stitched.
To enter: all you have to do is comment on this blog post with a suggestion/post idea/topic that would like to see VT Mamateurs cover. Easy?!? Peasy!
Entries will be accepted until February 13, 2013 at midnight- and we’ll announce the winner on February 14th (OUR ANNIVERSARY!!). One entry per e-mail address please. The winner will be selected at random. Good luck!

Ooo ooo oo! Have a guest blog from a dadatuer
Congrats on all of the major milestones – great work ladies! It would be fun to see some male perspective on the blog everyone once in a while like a dad’s corner/things they do when the mamateur isn’t looking/etc. {and probably would add to the laughs you already bring mommies!}
Hi Mamateurs! Congrats on your 1 year anniversary! So exciting
. Can’t wait to see that almost 2 year old (and his almost 31 year old mama) soon!! I am about to enter the terrifying world of potty training so I’d love to hear some tips from someone who’s already gone through this.
Wow, congrats! I think if you did a weekly or monthly segment on interviews with other moms to give their “a day in the life” perspective would be interesting. Or a mom crash, like a home crash, just to get an inside view of how lots of others deal with motherhood.
Congratulations!! What about having guest mom bloggers write about a specific topic facing them? I do like how you comment on “in the news moms” ie crazy mom plucking her child’s eyebrows. There was a story about a mom not buying her kids, or self, anything new for a year (she did 5). Could we all survive and what would you just HAVE to have new in that year. Here’s the article: http://www.today.com/id/48678819/site/todayshow/ns/today-money/t/could-you-go-years-without-anything-new-mom-did/
Love your blog!!
It might be fun to bloc about negative behaviors in other children that you keep a mental note of so to make sure to teach your kiddos not to do..sometimes I’m just so appalled at how ill-behaved some children are.
Happy (almost) Anniversary! I love so much hearing both of your stories and learning from you and so my suggestion would be to have a “Mamateur of the Month” where you showcase a fellow mamateur. And we can all learn about that mama and her kiddos, her favorite baby/kid items, her “must haves”, easiest/quickest meal to make for the family, snack ideas for the kids, organizational tip, parenting advice, her tips to stay frugal, favorite activities to do with the kids, best spots to take the kids to, etc. I love learning about other mamas and learning from other mamas!
Oops…so sorry…just realized that Becky had suggested the same thing! I guess great minds think alike.
I’ll just add that I love when you guys post recipes. I’m always looking for yumm/healthy snacks and meals for my extremely picky eater. Also, I’m always looking for more organizational ideas. Lastly, since children grow so quick and are learning new things, I feel like I am always a step behind with “must haves” for them. From toys to eating/drinking utensils to clothing suggestions/brands to books, etc. I would love to see what you recommend as “must haves” for children in certain age groups, etc. Thanks!
I’d like to see you both write about the same topic even if, or especially if, it’s something you have differing opinions about. Also, maybe take reader suggestions for topics.
P.S. Congrats on your first year and keep up the fun reads!
I just stumbled upon your FB page tonight and haven’t seen the blog yet. I will be sure to check it out! As a momma to an almost 4 year old boy, I would love to see some coverage about handling strong willed children and how to turn around their moods. Sometimes I’m successful at this but could use some new tips!
congrats on your milestone. I have a 3 yr old little girl and would love to see a post about easy to do and cute hair styles.
and what other people do to get them to sit still.
How cute! Congrats on the accomplishment!
I have a selfish suggestion… I have two very sweet, kind, loving boys…a 6 yrs old and soon to be 5 yrs old. While they are very close in age, they are 2 completely different personalities. To what they want to eat, what they want to play, how they play… It can be challenging when I am home alone with them…it feels like I need to be split in two. I know they both need to learn to take turns and share… But any other tips on dealing with very different personalities would be great! Though I am relatively new to your blog, I have really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Well congratulations on your year anniversary! You have done a great job so far with a variety of topics. How about a post about preparing your child to start preschool or kindergarten? Also, things parents can do at home to work with their child/children in regards to school.
Interviews with moms that seem to get everything done so easily.
How about top ten pregnancy pointers/moments for those moms-to-be or must have baby items that current mom’s can’t live without. Congrats on 1yr of blogging!
would love to know how you all keep yourselves/families/kids organized. In that same vein, tips on decorating kid’s rooms and playrooms is always fun!
Top Baby/Toddler/Children items
Congrats on your milestones!!
More info on feeding babes! I’ve just started solids and you ladies rock on giving fun, practical advice!
I’d like to see your take on the work/life/mom balance. I also loved the post asking for you both to write about the same topic!
I think it would be interesting to hear from moms about mothers and mother in law interactions 😊
I would love to win a may book! I would suggest printables of diaper bag check lists or luch box check lists.
Heya just came upon your website via Yahoo after I entered in,
“GIVEAWAY- May Designs MAY BOOK!! | VT Mamateurs” or perhaps something similar (can’t quite remember exactly). In any case, I’m
pleased I found it because your content is exactly what
I’m searching for (writing a university paper) and I hope you don’t mind
if I gather some information from here and I will of course credit you
as the source. Appreciate it.
