BRRRR!!! I found myself struggling a bit to get out of bed this morning. Nothing like a negative reading on the thermometer to make one lose all motivation! Days like today, I bet a lot of Vermonters contemplate moving to a warmer climate….
So, what are you doing to keep the little ones occupied inside today? Movie day? Crafting? Braving the elements and playing outside?? A good day to make these, or try this recipe.
Stay warm!

I felt like I was an extra in The Shining this past week. I have never danced, colored, made up games or become so creative in my life! Most days we got the boys out for a little while but they got cold quick. A new and very simple time consuming game we played was “spray the towel game”. Yep that is what we called it. Toddlers love spray bottles. I just filled up a couple of my plastic misters with water and they went to town “cleaning” towels. I just laid them down on the floor with some cardboard underneath ( we have lots of kitchen boxes right now) I kid you not they did this for an hour and a half. I had to set some ground rules, like no spraying your brother in the face and to keep spraying only on the towels. For the most part they obliged and mommy was able to vaccuum and chug a beer
Cheap thrills rule the toddler brain!!
Brooke- LOVE this idea. I find its harder to find activities that allow my daughter to entertain herself for more than five minutes. She is big on imagination games right now which is great for her, but hard for me! She always wants me to stop what I am doing to play with her and as a working mother, how can I say no to that? One day I’ll be begging her to play with me. So for now, I could use a few suggestions, other than TV, that will allow me to sit for a few minutes.
Max has become a big fan of the indoor picnic. Pretty much all of our meals are now consumed on the floor!
Alex- such a cute idea! Going to have to give this one a whirl for sure!! Thanks!
