Given that three out of my last four dining experiences have now been at Burlington’s newest “pizza” place (sooo much better than pizza!), I feel I owe a shout out to one of my new favorite Burlington-area restaurants.
Pizzeria Verita is located in the space formerly occupied by 156 Bistro (Plan B before that, and The Waiting Room before that), on St. Paul Street, next to Trattoria Delia. Aside from the food being DELICIOUS and reasonably priced, I love this restaurant because it has a fun/industrial chic atmosphere that is great for both the (entirely-too-seldom) date night OR an early-bird dinner out with the family (the menu is conducive for sharing). My husband and I LOVE to eat out, and having a child has certainly thwarted that habit a bit. What I adore about Burlington is that there are a number of good locally-owned restaurants that you can dine at with children (granted, we now dine “early bird” style), so you aren’t stuck frequenting Johnny Rockets every time you want to get out of cooking for a night. We have a handful of standbys: El Gato, Flatbread…and now, Pizzeria Verita.
Aside from a great menu, the restaurant has plenty of high chairs and crayons, and that perfect level of background noise for a jabbery-kid…oh, and a great wine list, of course
I highly recommend the gorgonzola and fig pizza…Ben was in pure heaven. While they don’t have a kid’s menu per se, (or at least I didn’t notice one) kiddos will have no problem scarfing down some of this pie (made with homemade mozzarella!).
Just in case you’re worried that your little one(s) hasn’t quite mastered his/her indoor voice yet, they do take-out as well! Date night at home anyone?
Of course, I’m getting no kickback or payment for writing this…just a big, big, fan…that wants to see a restaurant thrive in this location!!
Have you been yet? What did you think?
